The Center for Geospatial Technology is an active
member of the Columbia Regional Geospatial Service Center System.
The Columbia
System is a system of interconnected regional
centers focused on 1) emergency response and planning,
2) regional economic development and 3) natural resource
management.
Each
center concentrates on its own regional issues while maintaining
shared functionality and interoperability with the broader system.
Emergency response is one of the primary responsibilities of the
system. The centers plan, train and drill so that seamless,
coordinated response can be mounted for any incident.
As mandated by
Congress, the centers also concentrate on providing regional support
for economic development and natural resource management.
The administrative structure of CRGSC is designed to leverage the
strengths of each regional center while maintaining a level of
coordination consistent with the system’s goals.
